For parents and carers · AQA GCSE English
The student files from our schemes of learning, for revision at home: a revision workbook, a model answer pack and practice at three levels for each text, as PDFs to print or read on screen.
Teachers printing for a class need a revision set, which comes with a school or teacher licence.
What is in a pack
- Revision workbook
- The text or the paper, the key ideas and quotations, practice at three levels, an exam guide, a timed question and the answers.
- Model answer pack
- Exam-style questions answered at grades 4, 6 and 8–9, with numbered notes on what earns each grade.
- Deliberate practice
- Six weeks of practice at Securing, Strengthening and Soaring. For the set texts, each week starts with the part of the text to read, listen to or watch.
- Start sheet and guide
- Where to start, which level to use and how to print, with the guide for parents and carers.
Every pack has all three levels, so nobody has to pick one before buying. The free guide for parents and carers explains the papers, the levels and how to help at home.

Questions parents ask
- Which exam board are the packs for?
- AQA. The packs are written for the AQA GCSE English Language and English Literature specifications, and AQA has not endorsed them.
- Which level should my child use?
- Securing is for students aiming for a grade 4, Strengthening for grades 5 to 6 and Soaring for grades 7 to 9. Every pack has all three, and the start sheet explains how to choose. A student can move up a level whenever they are ready.
- Who can use a pack?
- One student, for their own study. Print as many copies as they need. Please don’t share the files with other students or upload them anywhere. The files show the student’s first name, the first letter of their surname and the order number. The licence terms have the details.
- How do the files arrive?
- We email a link to your download page as soon as payment goes through. Tick the box to get the files straight away, then download the pack as a zip file.
- Can I cancel?
- You can cancel within 14 days until the download starts. Once you ask for the files straight away and the download starts, the right to cancel ends. If a file is faulty, we put it right. Our refunds and cancellation policy explains this.
