Privacy for students

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This is the short version of our privacy notice, written for students. The full version is here: Privacy notice.

Free resources

You can download our free resources without giving us your name or email address.

Our emails

Our emails are for teachers, parents and carers, and students aged 16 or over who ask for them. If you are under 16, we will not send you emails trying to sell you anything.

If you have a revision pack

Whoever buys the pack, you or a parent or carer, gives us a name and an email address so we can send the files.

Your files show your first name, the first letter of your surname and an order number. That way, if a copy turns up online, we know where it came from. Please keep your files to yourself and don’t upload them anywhere.

What we never do

  • Sell your details.
  • Show you adverts based on what you do on our site.
  • Use cookies to follow you around the internet.
  • Build a profile of you.

Who helps us

A few companies help us. Shopify runs our shop and takes payments. Amazon Web Services stores our website and files. Other services email download links and count visits to our site. They can only use your details to do that job for us.

How long we keep things

We keep order records for six years, because the tax rules say we must. We keep your email address for emails you asked for until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop emailing you. We have to keep order records for tax, but we can delete everything else. Email hello@btl.education. A parent, carer or teacher can help you ask.

If you’re not happy

Tell us first at hello@btl.education, and we’ll reply within two working days. You can also complain to the Information Commission, which checks that organisations follow data protection law: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
