Introduction

Hi, this is Between the Lines and today I'm here just to talk you through our website so you can see everything that we've got on offer at btl.education.

Resources: Schemes and routes

So we've got our resources and you can see that our resources, we've got the different routes so you can think about what schemes you have and you can put these together so that your whole school can have, for example if you do Macbeth and Christmas Carol, however some students might do Macbeth and Jekyll and Hyde, it could be Romeo and Juliet and Jekyll and Hyde or Romeo and Juliet and Christmas Carol. So no matter what it is, you are making those savings by buying them as a pack. English Language, again, and then you can have the whole course. So the whole course for everything is all the literature texts as well as the language texts as well. You can buy schemes of learning individually.

Resources: Teacher and school licences

So if you wanted just A Christmas Carol for example, you can buy that just as one individual scheme of learning. And there is a different price for if you are one teacher and you are just teaching it as yourself or if you wanted a whole school license. Now if you do buy as a teacher and you love it so much, which you will, that you want to upgrade to a school license, what we will do is we will just charge you the difference between that. So you won't need to buy an additional school license, it will be the difference to upgrade it to a school license. So those were all our resources.

Resources: Nine schemes

As you can see, we've got Christmas Carol, Jekyll and Hyde, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Inspector Calls, Power and Conflict, unseen poetry, Language Paper 1 and Language Paper 2. We've also got some resources on our website for free.

Free: Lesson 3 of every scheme

So they come from lesson samplers. So lesson 3 of every scheme of learning is available to download for free today so that you can get a feel of what that looks like. We've also got some other free resources on there for students and for parents

Free: Guides for students and parents

and carers. So we've got our thesis statement builders which answer any literature essay. We've got our Year 11 countdown, so a revision guide for students from 12 weeks of revision. We've got our guide for parents and carers so that actually the people at home know what students are doing. They might not know A Christmas Carol inside out but actually they know what the exams are looking for and what students need to be doing to prepare for them. We've also got, just in time for Christmas, we've got our Christmas Carol advent calendar where we've got 24 quotations

Free: A Christmas Carol: a quotation a day

from the 1st to the 24th of December and each one has a question that goes alongside that. Also on our website, we've got the schemes, we've got revision packs.

Revision packs: For students, parents and carers

So these are for students, parents and carers. We've got revision workbook, we've got a model answer pack at different grades. So our three levels of Securing, Strengthening, Soaring, numbered notes and what each grade earns on those model answer packs. We've got the independent practice booklet, again all three levels and we've got the how to start and the guide for parents and carers. So that's a revision pack and they are for all of our texts, literature texts as well as English Language. And you can see that there is lots and lots included there. So for our English Language for example, you've got 231 pages of your revision resources. It will keep you nice and busy. And then for each of the literature texts, and then you can buy the whole paper as well. So make a saving by getting your Shakespeare and 19th century together or your literature paper 2 together and also you can get it as a complete set. Just a reminder, we've got a countdown on there. This is how long we've got to go. Doesn't time go quickly? Another thing that we offer is our essay marking.

Essay marking: Marked by a real teacher

So if you send us in an essay, an exam answer or a whole paper, it comes back marked by an experienced English teacher. We do not use AI. Everything is read by a real person. It will tell you what the level it reached and exactly how to reach the next one. So you will get the level, the mark. We have personalised comments, so notes on the script itself, three clear targets and we know that there is no AI marking. Again, so we're offering different things at different prices in terms of if you want one essay, one literature essay, if you want a language question, a full paper or send me everything. Send me three essays and you make a saving there. And you don't need to send them all at the same time. All at the same time. It could be that actually you do me a Romeo and Juliet and then two weeks later you do me a language paper one question five. They don't need to all be at the same time. That's absolutely fine to work on your own timings. And we do offer an express service as well.

Essay marking: Prices and express marking

So you choose what you want, you send the work in. It doesn't need to be typed. You can send me photos of your handwriting. And I actually would much more highly recommend that unless you have the access arrangements that you're working on a word processor within your exam. Like actually people should be writing the way that they will be doing the exam and then you'll get it back within three working days.

Knowledge hub: Long reads

We've also got our knowledge hub, which is for teachers, for students and for parents and carers. We've got our long reads. We've got our targeted things for articles and ideas for teachers. So we all know that we've all got different levels of experience as teaching. So we're thinking about actually making sure we're upskilling our less experienced teachers, making sure that they really know what the specifications of these exam boards are, making sure that we understand what do-nows are, hinge questions and exploding quotations and thinking aloud. So these are all the things that are included in our schemes of learning and this is the thinking behind it. This is why we have done these, why we've included them and why we know that they are successful. There's also points for students.

Knowledge hub: For students

What they're doing, they actually need to know what exams they're sitting, how to write those how-why paragraphs, how to start a thesis statement and then we've got some key quotations for each of the texts. So key quotations, 22 quotations there, 20 from Macbeth. So we've got the plot overview for each of those literary texts and key quotations. Now what we don't want to do is overload students by saying that they have to remember the whole text, not necessarily. 20 key quotations, short relevant quotations, just a few words. We say no more than six words really in a quotation are really going to help them not be overloaded and make sure that they have a nice broad spread of different themes and characters. We've also got, if I go back to the knowledge hub and show you, we've got

Knowledge hub: For parents and carers

resources and reading for parents and carers, what they need to do, what it looks like actually helping support students. We pull, we are always reading, aren't we? So we are looking at all different news articles that come out in terms of

Knowledge hub: News

education, how it affects us as English teachers, how it affects us as content writers as well. And then this is a really nice feature that we've got which is helpful for students, but also us as teachers as well and also parents and carers. So we've got a glossary of everything that you need to know, tier two and tier

Knowledge hub: Glossary

three vocabulary for all. We've got it for literature and then you can obviously see what it looks like for teaching and learning as well, for example. Actually, what does adaptive teaching look like? What is cognitive load? So all of that is there as well. Really nice feature of our website is that it is very accessible.

Display: Light, dark and page colour

So we've got light and dark mode. We can change the background to make it easier for people to read it, depending on some readers find tinted pages easier to read.

Display: Reading comfort

We've got a reading comfort which gives you more spacing between it. And we've also got this lovely feature here which is our reading ruler.

Display: Reading ruler

So we can look and focus on one thing. Now this is really great for students who are accessing the site. We encourage in our reading routines, which are built into our schemes of learning, that all students are using a reading ruler. So we are modelling what we are saying by including that on our website as well. Let me just turn that off. I'll put everything back to how it was. Really quick button to take you to everything that is free there as well.

Free: No sign-up needed

So no sign up needed. You can read them and you can download them and edit them. So lesson three of every scheme is free so you can see what it is that we do and you can use it with your students and see how effective it is and how it engages them. And makes progress. Okay, that is between the lines. We hope very much to see you on our website soon. Remember it's all available to download now at btl.education. Thank you.
